Maximum precision for rotary tools and inserts.

Haas Schleifmaschinen: The game changer.

Over the past few years, Haas Schleifmaschinen has implemented a wide variety of turnkey solutions that produce cutting tools for many different manufacturing processes. These solutions are characterized by the perfect interaction between hardware and software. With the Multigrind® Radical, Haas Schleifmaschinen continues this tradition and brings the future of tool grinding to life at the AMB. Milling cutters, drills and inserts can be produced as required, even in chaotic loading scenarios. A key highlight is the fundamentally rethought, future‑ready operating concept.

The machine as executer: The new liberty in tool grinding.

The focus of the new concept lies in the consistent separation of operation and machine—a logical simplification that leads to unprecedented independence. With this operating concept, the machine becomes a pure executer. Because everything in grinding revolves around NC code, programming in CNC grinding has always been closely tied to the machine itself. A high‑tech grinding machine acting purely as an execution system was previously unthinkable. By separating calculation and machine, completely new possibilities emerge.

Decoupling shifts the required computing load from the machine to the network. This makes NC code generation not only more flexible overall but also significantly faster, as scaling is possible in the network but not on the machine. The concept ensures long‑term freedom of configuration by preventing the obsolescence of the machine's PC control system. Upgrade and retrofit considerations for aging control systems become unnecessary. Users benefit directly from continuous software advancements, since NC code is calculated in the company network instead of on the machine.

The calculation in the company network allows execution via tablet, laptop or smartphone. This makes work in front of the machine much more flexible. The tool grinder works on the move and is always up‑to‑date. Operation is no longer limited to one machine—several machines can be controlled via a freely selectable platform (tablet, PC, laptop). The separation also improves IT security.

In addition to extending the machine’s service life, the operating concept supports sustainable flexibilization of the working environment. Dispensing with a classic control panel changes the workplace—an inflexible work environment becomes mobile and adaptable. The network‑based architecture offers better oversight, and synergies arise from the shared infrastructure: networking, documentation, interfaces, parts spectrum and production environment all benefit from a unified approach.

One solution: Unlimited possibilities in tool grinding.

Not only the operating concept is remarkable—the performance is, too. The Multigrind® Radical was developed in response to increasing demands in precision tool manufacturing: faster production, more precise tools, just‑in‑time workflows, smaller quantities, very small batches from size 1 to 100, and chaotic loading. Haas Schleifmaschinen meets these challenges with technical finesse, enabling radically faster, highly flexible and extremely efficient grinding of milling cutters, drills and plates.

Best‑in‑class times apply to both tool changes and wheel changes. Because these changes take place in parallel, valuable time is saved and non‑productive periods become secondary.
The Multigrind® Radical is fully equipped yet radically reduced. With a footprint of 1,425 × 1,875 mm and a height of 2,070 mm, it is ideal even for low shop heights. The inherently rigid mineral‑casting machine bed ensures stability. The free over‑corner access improves user‑friendliness. Another major advantage is the quick integration into production—without extensive programming effort. No lengthy training is required during installation or operation. Production can start immediately without wasting time.
Parameterization, templates and ERP information form the data basis. Programming itself is extremely simple and enables very fast production changes. Just provide the parts and start working.

The Multigrind® Radical can be experienced from September 13 to 17 at the AMB in Stuttgart, Hall 1, Stand 1E70.
