A good and interesting trade fair week in Stuttgart is now behind us. AMB 2010 was a success for us, as our new addition, the Multigrind® CA, was very positively received by visitors to our booth. It was also an interesting event, as we gathered a number of valuable technical suggestions. We would like to thank you for these ideas. They will be carefully reviewed and, at the appropriate time, incorporated into the development of new products at Haas Schleifmaschinen.

The Multigrind® CA with Integrated Coffee Machine – Why Not?

As a medium-sized mechanical engineering company (the so called German Mittelstand), we value constructive criticism, whether positive or negative. So if 100 out of 100 customers are of the opinion that the Multigrind® CA desperately needs an integrated original Italian coffee machine, then our development manager Hans-Dieter “Charlie” Braun will of course give it some serious thought.

Swabian Housewife Influences Development Process – Why Not?

Speaking of development, I happened to overhear Mr Braun explaining the interior of the new maintenance cabinet of the Multigrind® CA to an interested visitor at the trade fair. He described why all display instruments are positioned at eye level, why all filling points are located at waist height, and why cables and supply lines are routed exactly where they are. His explanation concluded with the words: “Now the maintenance cabinet is finally properly organised.”

Quite apart from the fact that machine operators now have a much better overview and control of the entire supply unit, it makes me wonder whether the spirit of the Swabian housewife is at work in our development department. After all, she is well known for her emphasis on sensible economy and keeping everything neat, tidy and well organised. Right?
