Dressing of conventional grinding wheels

  • Dressing of conventional grinding wheels

In practice, conventional grinding wheels are predominantly dressed using profile rolls, whose shape directly defines the final geometry. It is essential that this geometry remains stable for as long as possible—even though the diamond gradually wears during use.

For this reason, dressing is carried out step by step in multiple infeed passes, usually divided into roughing and finishing cuts, in order to achieve a precise and clean result.
