Sintered dressers

  • Sintered dressers

Sintered dressers are typically manufactured using a negative sintering process and are primarily used for form and profile rolls. First, a negative mold is created, into which the diamonds are precisely positioned and fixed. During sintering at high temperatures, the abrasive layer bonds firmly with the metal matrix. Due to shrinkage during cooling, a subsequent grinding operation is required to achieve the desired accuracy before the tool is inspected.

The strength of this process lies in the stable diamond retention, good heat dissipation, and the precise arrangement of the grains. This enables the production of accurate profiles and long tool life—albeit with increased effort in post-processing.
