A lost belt grinder ensures super surfaces

Implants with fabulous surfaces

On average, it takes just 0.6 seconds from thinking a word to actually speaking it. This is what neuroscientists at Harvard University have discovered. Quite fast, indeed. How long it took our head of development, Hans‑Dieter Braun, to come up with the term Ilmentritschel is something I cannot say.

Adelbert Haas: Trossingen.

Haas Schleifmaschinen: "Ilmentritschel" - Ensures perfect surfaces.

What I do know is that it did not take long from the initial idea of integrating a belt grinder into our Multigrind® CB to a successful test run. Today, the Ilmentritschel is already in operation on several Multigrind® CB machines. Among other applications, it ensures exceptionally homogeneous surface finishes when manufacturing knee joint implants.

The original Swabian name Ilmentritschel has even found its way effortlessly into the vocabulary of our customers in Hamburg. Just as it should.

Haas Schleifmaschinen: Development Manager.

The Ilmentritschel is one of four new developments featured in our newsletter momentum. With this deliberately concise format, we aim to keep you regularly informed about the latest developments in the world of grinding. We would be happy to include you in our mailing list. Simply get in touch with us.

I wish you all the best for the new year and, of course, a consistently fast connection.
