Mixing bowl meets grinding machine
Dear blog readers,
you may now be wondering what on earth a mixing bowl has to do with a grinding machine. I will assume that all male readers have at least a rough idea of what a mixing bowl is used for. Let me explain briefly.
Three years ago, our flagship machine, the Multigrind® CB, received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. We were truly delighted by this recognition. Not least because, together with our design partner BUSSE Design, we succeeded in harmoniously combining high functionality with aesthetics. Something engineers are not always credited with, to be honest.
The founder and owner of BUSSE Design is Rido Busse. And that brings us directly to the mixing bowl. Rido Busse is the inventor of the iconic mixing bowl with the curved rim. It not only looks appealing, but is also exceptionally practical to use. When Busse developed this bowl for Krups, it was nothing short of a small revolution. Millions were sold, and there is hardly a household without one. Take a look in your own kitchen.
Professor Busse, who was awarded the German Order of Merit for his lifetime achievements just a few weeks ago, studied at the legendary Ulm School of Design and founded his design studio in the late 1960s.
In addition, Busse has been actively involved for many years in the fight against product piracy. In this context, he initiated the Plagiarius award, which is regularly presented to particularly blatant product copies. A problem that some readers may be familiar with as well. Busse’s credo can be summed up as follows: design is not an unnecessary cost factor, but an investment in a company’s future. And innovative ideas, when implemented with high quality, pay off in the long run. We could not agree more.
The Multigrind® CB has established itself successfully in the market. Because of its performance as a high‑tech grinding centre and perhaps also because it looks good. How important is design to you when it comes to capital goods? And which design product do you personally appreciate the most?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
With kind regards and happy grinding!
