GrindDialog 2026 brings research and industry together in Trossingen.

On November 12 and 13, 2026, GrindDialog will take place at Adelbert Haas in Trossingen. The two-day event is aimed at professionals from academia, research, technology development, and industrial practice. Its focus will be on the latest developments in manufacturing technology, including grinding technology, digitalization, automation, advanced materials, metrology, and artificial intelligence.

Industrial manufacturing is undergoing a profound transformation. New quality requirements, shorter development cycles, increasing automation, and data-driven processes are reshaping the way production is planned, controlled, and continuously improved. Individual technologies can no longer be viewed in isolation. What matters today is the effective interaction between machines, tools, materials, data, processes, and people.

This is where GrindDialog comes in. The event is not conceived as a traditional conference or product showcase, but rather as a platform for professional exchange between research and industrial application. Its goal is to evaluate technological developments at an early stage and discuss their implications for manufacturing practice.

Previous editions of GrindDialog have revealed a clear trend: grinding processes are increasingly being viewed as an integral part of interconnected manufacturing systems. Rather than focusing on individual influencing factors, attention is shifting toward the interactions between technology, data, expertise, and industrial application.

The 2026 event continues to build on this approach. Contributions from both academia and industry are expected to bring together the latest research findings, technological developments, and practical application challenges. In this way, GrindDialog is aimed at professionals who seek to view manufacturing not only from the perspective of individual processes, but also within the broader context of interconnected systems and future developments.

The unique character of the format lies in its open exchange of ideas. While many events focus on presenting solutions, best practices, or specific applications, GrindDialog starts earlier in the innovation process: with the questions, assumptions, and interrelationships from which new solutions can emerge. Presentations are not intended solely to convey knowledge, but rather to serve as a starting point for discussion, reflection, and further development.

Precisely because manufacturing increasingly needs to be understood as an interconnected system, this interdisciplinary dialogue is becoming ever more important. Topics such as data-driven process control, software-defined manufacturing, automation, and artificial intelligence can only be advanced through the collaboration of different disciplines and areas of expertise.

GrindDialog will take place in Trossingen on Thursday, November 12, 2026, and Friday, November 13, 2026. Under the guiding theme “Frontiers of Manufacturing. Beyond what is known.”, Adelbert Haas invites professionals to engage in a technical exchange on developments that have the potential to shape the future of manufacturing in the years to come.
